1. She always seems to be on the opposite side of the gym from you, no matter how many times you switch machines or areas.
2. She never makes eye contact with you, even when you smile or wave at her. Instead, she looks at her phone, her watch, or the exit.
3. She wears headphones and listens to music or podcasts whenever she works out, making it impossible for you to strike up a conversation with her.
4. She always leaves the gym in a hurry, without showering or changing clothes. Sometimes, you hear her muttering something like "I need to get out of here" or "I hope he doesn't follow me".
5. She has a sticker on her car that says "I'm a proud single mom and I don't need a man". Or worse, "I'm a proud single mom and I have a restraining order".
If you notice any of these signs, chances are the single mom at your gym is not interested in you and may even feel threatened by your presence. It's best to respect her boundaries and leave her alone. Otherwise, you may end up with a visit from the police or a lawsuit.
