Masks

In the early 2000’s I was the drummer of a band called Side C and a fun thing to do on stage is wear a funny costume sometimes. I experimented with many designs for a robot mask/helmet I’d wear on stage. It started with the classic cardboard box with aluminium wrapping and a couple beer cans for eyes. At one point it was a 5 gallon bucket spray painted gold, but it weighed a ton and was used only once. Wanting to make some funny videos and photos of Earth Crusher outside the context of the band, I did some R&D to find a better solution. I finally discovered foam-core and mac-tac with which I created a very light and rigid design that I could wear for extended periods, cost very little to produce, but with a high-quality appearance.
